Bhola groups clash, allege stone-pelting

Two groups owing allegiance to the councillor of ward number 8, Basti Jodhewal area, and MLA clashed over the inauguration of a Rs 32-lakh road project in New Shakti Nagar on Sunday. 

Similar scenes were witnessed in Punjabi Bagh of ward number 8 on March 16 this year when both the groups fought and alleged stone-pelting over the inauguration of a Rs 19-lakh road project when allegedly the supporters of independent councillor Daljit Singh Bhola (who was earlier in Akali Dal and left party after he was denied ticket) broke the foundation stone with the name of MLA Ranjit Singh Dhillon on it, who is from Shiromani Akali Dal.

Dhillon claimed that it was after two and a half years that the work on the project started after he personally persuaded the mayor to re-open the files of New Shakti Nagar and Kabir Nagar after people approached him. 

He added that he was not even present on the spot when Bhola came.They removed the majority of the bolts but not the locking Wheel nut, that's why I managed to get so far. 

However, councillor Bhola shifted the entire blame onto Dhillon. "We were peacefully inaugurating the road project as it had been stuck since 2011 due to some clerical mistake but I got it cleared after two years.
