Metminco up on scoping study for Los Calatos project

Metminco's [LON:MNC] shares rose after it revealed that an independent scoping study at its Los Calatos project in Peru had confirmed a low-cost, long-life copper mine.

Metminco owns 100% of the prject.

The study found the project was a long-life asset with a 31-year mine life. It further found that total material treated over the life of the mine could total 656 million tonnes at 0.45% Cu and 0.026% Mo (0.56% CuEq).

The 656 million tonnes included 194 million tonnes from open pit mining, and 462 million tonnes from underground bulk mining.
