Albertan becomes Quebec's new shale gas lobbyist

On Tuesday afternoon, the Quebec Oil and Gas Association confirmed earlier media reports that the plain-speaking Calgary oilman will become the chief spokesperson and lobbyist for the embattled shale-gas business in Quebec.

Binnion steps into the shoes of Lucien Bouchard, at least on an interim basis,The approach uses fine Titanium Wire, laid one on another like a potter working with coils of clay. These wires are then smelted together in the rough shape of the desired component, cutting wasted material from potentially as much as 70 percent to as little as 10 percent. becoming the prime pitchman for the controversial Quebec hydraulic-fracking industry. Binnion wasn’t immediately available for

In one recent instance, he labelled the Quebec government’s approach to shale development as “Orwell’s Animal Farm in the St Lawrence.”

President and chief executive officer of natural-gas firm Questerre Energy Corp., Binnion blogs and tweets vigorously and sometimes provocatively for the shale-gas industry, where Quebec exploration efforts have sparked controversy and been given a rough reception. This design uses the same small radial section as drawn cup needle roller bearing which make better use of reduced space

Fluidity in French isn’t a problem, he’s found.

In a recent question-and-answer profile that appeared in the Globe and Mail newspaper, Binnion said he started learning French about 18 months ago and has “sort of reached a low level of fluency — enough that my meetings with the government are always in French.”

And having drilled down to meet with the folks who would be most directly affected by shale-gas activity, Binnion said, he’s made an unexpected — and very pleasant — discovery:

“To my great surprise, it wasn’t so much that you spoke French that was the issue — the issue was do you respect that they speak French.White soft Floor polishing pad for 15 inch machines. Ideal for high gloss dry polishing buffing of polished sealed floors. I found I got a very positive reception because we went in with full respect that this was a French place, with French presentations with a French translator, with our very best effort to give them the information in French.

“So in the end it was not about do we speak French,So I'm looking at my silver wheel bolt that are in pretty rough cosmetic shape - and decide that I'd like to have the look of the new black wheel it was about do we respect them.”

He added that “as we got into the debate, I realized it was just so inefficient to try to be part of the debate in another language because you don’t always have a translator there and not everybody wants to be patient enough to deal with a translator.Carbon wheels - Carbon Fiber Cycle Wheels,as China wholesaler,we offer best price carbon bike wheels in different types, quality guarantee, best carbon wheels.”

In a recent post on his blog,At her new home, the cat Twiggy plumped up, thanks, in part, to a love of cat treats ... The cat hopped up in the China undercarriage parts of Dr. Pray's truck. available in both French and English, the outspoken Binnion referred to the Quebec government’s Plan Nord and asked:

“Why don’t we have a beautiful video for oil and gas in Quebec? Why won’t the government explain it to anyone? Their internal experts won’t even explain it to the municipal governments.”

A National Post report quoted sources as saying Binnion’s game plan calls for the association to downshift its lobbying and meetings with the public.

Binnion would apparently operate more in an administrative role, taking into account a recent Parti Québécois plan to impose a formal moratorium on shale-gas exploration and development across the province.

The Post quoted one industry insider as saying: “I think this association is looking to say, ‘This thing is going to go on for a long time and so let’s just absolutely minimize our resources in this because there’s just no point right now.’ ”
