Roma Show starts Friday



THIS year's 127th Roma Show is packed with events for all the family this Friday and Saturday.

Make sure you are there bright and early on the Friday for the Rabobank business breakfast at the Wool Pavilion to get right up to date with everything in the agricultural world followed by a hearty breakfast.

Then it's just a short stroll to the cattle pavilion where the stud cattle make a welcome return after missing out to Rockhampton Beef Week in 2012.

Make sure too you head down to the sheep pavilion as this year's Roma Show hosts the Queensland State Sheep Show.

This is the premier event in the Queensland Merino Studbreeder's calendar where merino studs compete for the Queensland Ram and Ewe of the Year titles.

The showjumping too doubles up as the Queensland Country Championships so it is sure to be high quality, with equestrian events starting on Thursday.

A highlight of the show will be the stunning sand sculptures of the Sandman while First Light Entertainment will be performing stiltwalking with balloon sculpting through out both days.For mains, there is a choice of Wild Rice’s ‘Chinese Fish ‘n Chips’ (beer-battered ling cod, Asian Tartar Sauce, taro shoestring frites) or its ‘meaty’ Grilled king oyster mushroom (with cashew ricotta and polenta fries). They will also run circus workshops.

Toots Magic Entertainment will be running shows throughout both days and will amaze audiences with their magical effects.

Following the Rooftop Express at 8:30pm there will be a fireworks display from Skyward Entertainment.
