Black Hills Energy's price option program draws 7,200 customers




About 7,200 customers served by Black Hills Energy locked in a price for their natural gas under the company's annual price option program.

Last year, about 2,500 customers enrolled in the program.

Black Hills customers in three rate areas had until Oct. 10 to sign up for the program that locks in a fixed price for one year beginning Nov. 1. Customers who don't lock in will pay for their natural gas based on market conditions.

Customers in Lincoln, Walton and Cheney who signed up will pay about 55 cents per therm beginning Nov. 1. The price this month is about 53 cents per therm.
