Robert Gardner Alexander

Robert was born in Madison, Wis., on May 19, 1949. He graduated from Madison West High School in 1967 and from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (B.A.) in 1971. He received a J.D. degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1976. Robert also received an LLM in Taxation from DePaul University Law School in 1984. 

Robert engaged in the private practice of law for 25 years in Milwaukee and La Crosse as Alexander Law Office S.C. His practice concentrated in the area of estate planning. He was a noted author, speaker and consultant. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils (NAEPC). At the time of his death, Robert held the office of President of NAEPC. Robert had a great sense of humor and quick wit. He was an avid reader of theology and law. He enjoyed music and was an accomplished pianist. Robert loved the Lord and served him well.

The family expresses appreciation to the physicians, nurses and staff of Gundersen Lutheran Hospital and Hospice in LaCrosse and UW Hospital Carbone Cancer Unit. 

A private family memorial service will be held. Memorials may be given to the Gundersen Medical Foundation Hospice Program or the UW Carbone Cancer Center.
